Moderate/Difficiult 4mi/5.6KM Natural Service (FS 1841) From New Castle, take CR 226 NW. Turn right on CR 241 to trailhead. Trail travels along East Elk Creek through a canyon and waterfalls. Highlights include remains of early gold mining camps.

7 miles. 11.3 km. (FS 1840). Natural Surface. From New Castle, take CR 226 NW. Turn right on CR 243 N to Clinetop Road. Trailhead parking on left. Stay on trail through private property. Hiking only.

1.2 miles. 2km. Natural Surface. Very popular hiking trail climbs to Hanging Lake, which was created by a geologic fault. Spouting rock is a unique place to cool off, just five minutes beyond the lake. No dogs, swimming or fishing.

Easy. 7.5mi/12.1km. Paved. Take Highway 82 south to CR 154. At the traffic light, turn right and travel .6 miles to CR 109. Cross the Roaring Fork River. Continue to CR 108 at the "T" turn left toward Carbondale.

Moderate/Difficult. 3 miles/5 km. Natural Surface. Hike or bike this 3 mile trail. Trailhead starts at the east end of 8th street in downtown Glenwood. Provides access to Lookout Mountain and trail network. Very steep and rocky.
